A man was killed early Sunday after he was hit by at least two vehicles as he walked in the roadway on the Southern State Parkway in Malverne, State troopers said.

The man, who was born in 1976 and was from either Brooklyn or Queens, was walking in the westbound right or center lane of the Southern State Parkway near Exit 17 at about 2:20 a.m. when he was struck by a motorcyclist and a BMW sport utility vehicle, said Trooper Frank Bandiero.

Both motorists stopped and stayed to talk with investigators, Bandiero said, and investigators do not suspect any criminality. The man could possibly have been hit by additional vehicles, Bandiero said.

There was no word on whether the motorists were injured, or why the man was in the roadway.

Troopers ask anyone who may have seen the pedestrian or the accident to call them at 631-756-3300.
