A Valley Stream bank was robbed Friday afternoon by a man who displayed nothing more sinister than a bouquet of flowers, Nassau police said.
The man, about 35- to 40- years old, entered the Chase Bank at 270 Central Ave. in Valley Stream about 2 p.m., police said, carrying a bouquet of purple flowers in his arms.
But after the man reached a bank teller's window, he handed the teller a note, demanding money, police said.
Keeping the flowers and taking an unspecified amount of money, the man exited the bank and was last seen walking east on Raisig Avenue, police said.
None of the 10 people in the bank at the time, eight employees and two customers, were reported injured, police said.
Detectives asked that anyone with information about this incident call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS.
