A knife-wielding man robbed a gas station early Friday in North Massapequa, Nassau Count police said.

The robber, carrying a knife with a 12-inch blade, entered the Getty Gas Mart, 975 Broadway, about 4:45 a.m. and demanded money from the cashier, police said. He escaped with an unknown amount of money.

There were no customers in the store at the time and there were no injuries, police said.

The suspect was described as a man in his early 30s, with blues eyes, a thin build, wearing a ski mask, a black hooded sweatshirt and white sneakers. He left in a red or maroon, four-door vehicle that was occupied by another person, police said.

Anyone with information on the crime was urged to call Crime Stoppers at 800-244-8477. Callers will remain anonymous.
