A man armed with a knife robbed a Valley Stream grocery store Friday night, Nassau County police said.

Authorities said the robber, described as 5 feet, 9 inches tall, entered Fortune Grocery at 246 N. Central Ave., brandished his knife and demanded money from a cashier at 8:20 p.m.

The robber was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, black ski mask and gloves. He fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

No injuries were reported.
