Police on Thursday arrested and charged a Brooklyn man in connection with a July 10 shooting at a Glen Cove hotel that left three people injured.

Glen Cove Lt. Det. John Nagle said in an email that Remy Marshall, 26, was arrested Thursday morning at the Glen Cove police station after an investigation by his department and the NYPD.

Marshall, a hip-hop artist who performs under the name Fetty Luciano, according to Nagle, was charged with attempted murder and weapons possession

Glen Cove Mayor Pam Panzenbeck said Marshall, accompanied by a lawyer, had turned himself in Thursday morning. Police had known the alleged shooter's identity for some time, she added.

"They knew who they were looking for," Panzenbeck said.

Three people were shot and wounded earlier this month at a hip-hop-themed pool party, which authorities said drew 150 to 200 people.

Police have said the shooting occurred as a security guard tried to escort someone from the party.

Days later, officials from the State Liquor Authority suspended the hotel's liquor license, citing numerous alleged violations to state law and accusing hotel management of ceding control of the venue to the promoter who had organized the party.

The Mansion could lose its liquor license, which remained suspended Thursday, an SLA spokesman said. The spokesman said a lawyer for hotel management had approached the SLA prosecutor managing the case to negotiate a settlement.

Marshall is a Def Jam Recordings artist. A company spokesman did not respond to an email.

A 2018 article on the Billboard website described Marshall as a “rising star” from East Flatbush who had performed at venues including the Barclays Center.

That story said he was a member of the GS9 “crew” that included other popular performers.

A 2014 release from the Office of the Special Narcotics Prosecutor for the City of New York described GS9, or “G Stone Crips,” as a Brooklyn-based street gang and announced the arrest of numerous members including Marshall.

According to the release, GS9 members engaged in “violent disputes with rival gangs, committed murder and carried out numerous non-fatal shootings,” and narcotics trafficking.

Marshall was charged with conspiracy, reckless endangerment and criminal possession of a weapon, according to the release.

According to state inmate records, Marshall was incarcerated in 2016 and released on parole in 2017. He was scheduled to be arraigned Friday in Hempstead.
