A Massachusetts man was arrested Thursday in the fatal stabbing of a Hempstead teenager during the summer, Nassau police said.

Santos Ovidio Morales, 29, of Revere, is expected to be arraigned Friday on a second-degree murder charge in the death of Jose Melvin Reyes, 18, police said. The arraignment will be at First District Court in Hempstead. Morales also faces a first-degree robbery charge in a 2006 case, police said.

Reyes was stabbed the night of July 18 in Hempstead and found in the street. He was taken to Winthrop-University Hospital in Mineola, where he died at 12:59 a.m., police said.

No other details were immediately available in the case.
