A man was found dead in a Massapequa house fire Tuesday night, but two others got out, authorities said early Wednesday.

Nassau police identified the victim as Iletan Alexandre, 62, a resident of the Martin Street home where the blaze started about 9:45 p.m.

Alexandre was found in the garage, where the fire was contained, and his wife and adult son got out of the house, which sustained smoke and water damage, said Michael Uttaro, Nassau County assistant chief fire marshal.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.

There did not appear to be any suspicious activity surrounding the fire and the man's death, Uttaro said, but police and the medical examiner's office will determine the cause of death.
