An early-morning house fire swept through a home in East Massapequa, leaving two dead and another injured Thursday, Nassau fire officials said.

The condition of the injured occupant, who officials said was transported to Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow, was not known.

Two volunteer firefighters from the Massapequa Fire Department also suffered what officials called “minor” burns — and were taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Bethpage.

The fire at the two-story home on Nancy Place was reported in a 911 call at 4:06 a.m., officials said. Firefighters from Massapequa, Amityville and South Farmingdale responded to the scene and, officials said, had the blaze under control within an hour.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. The home is located about a block east of Carmans Road and just north of the Sunrise Mall.

Police and fire officials have not released any information regarding the victims. Officials said fire marshals and Nassau County police Arson / Bomb Squad detectives are on scene — but stressed that is routine procedure in any fatal fire.
