An Oceanside woman who was pulled over Monday on suspicion of making unsafe lane changes, driving over hazardous markings and other traffic violations on the Meadowbrook State Parkway in East Meadow faces a DWI charge, State Police said.

A trooper following a green Jeep south on the Meadowbrook near Hempstead Turnpike pulled over the driver, Nicole Maher, 23, at about 12:40 p.m., according to a release.

Police said Maher failed to stay in her lane, failed to signal while changing lanes, followed other cars too closely and drove over hazardous markings, prompting the traffic stop.

Police said Maher had "a strong odor of alcoholic beverage" and failed sobriety tests. She was arrested on a driving while intoxicated charge and charged with several traffic violations.

Her arraignment information was not immediately available.
