Meadowbrook State Parkway north in Hempstead reopens after shot report, officials say
A ShotSpotter alert early Wednesday morning led state troopers to temporarily close all the northbound lanes of the Meadowbrook State Parkway in Hempstead, the police said.
The state transportation website had attributed the shutdown to an accident investigation.
The state troopers are investigating but at the moment they have neither a complainant or a victim, a spokesman said by telephone.
The lanes at exit M8W were closed from shortly before 5 a.m. about 5:45 a.m.
