A bookkeeper for a medical billing company in Jericho was arrested and charged with stealing more than $3,000 from the company, Nassau police said.

Stephanie Brunner, 26, of 227 North Albany Ave., Massapequa, was charged with two counts of fourth degree grand larceny, and four counts of second degree criminal possession of a forged instrument.

Brunner, while working for Sovereign Medical Billing, used company debit cards to make unauthorized purchases, police said, and deposited forged company checks into her personal bank account between March 17 and June 2.

She was to be arraigned Thursday in First District Court, Hempstead.
