A Seaford High School varsity lacrosse player returned home one day after he was taken by helicopter to a hospital as a precaution after a head injury, the school athletic director said Thursday.

“The student-athlete is home doing better,” said athletic director Michael Spreckels.

On Wednesday, Spreckels said the player was alert when taken to Cohen Children’s Medical Center in New Hyde Park.

And Nassau police said the injury did not appear to be life-threatening.

The teen’s name was not released; he and his team were competing against West Hempstead when the injury occurred.
