Two Mineola men face robbery charges after they hit another man on the head and took his iPhone and cash early Monday, Nassau County police said.

Joel Salmeron, 21, of 490 Pennsylvania Ave., and Noe DeJesus Salmeron, 22, 133 Lincoln Ave., are scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday on second-degree robbery charges in First District Court in Hempstead.

Police said the two jumped a man who was walking near Willis and Washington avenues in Mineola at about 5 a.m. They hit the victim, 38, in the head and took his iPhone and an unspecified amount of cash, police said.

The victim knew the two Salmerons, and police found Joel Salmeron on Willis Avenue and Noe DeJesus Salmeron at his home.

The two Salmerons are related, police said, but a spokeswoman said Tuesday they could not determine their relationship.

Police recovered the victim's phone but not the stolen cash.

Joel Salmeron also is charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance; Noe DeJesus Salmeron also is charged with possession of a forged instrument.
