Third Squad detectives are searching for two men who used a crowbar and a knife to rob a couple in Hempstead, Nassau County police said.

Police said the couple, a man and woman each 19 years old, was walking to a parked car on Courtenay Road at about 12:30 a.m. Friday when two men appeared.

One of the men had a crowbar, the other a knife, and they demanded cash from the couple, police said.

The male victim gave the men his wallet, which had an unknown amount of cash. The attacker with the crowbar took the wallet, grabbed the man's cellphone and ripped a chain from the man's neck, police said.

After the woman told the men she had no money, they ordered her to lift her shirt to show she was not hiding money in her bra, police said.

The two attackers ran away south on Courtenay Road. Police said neither victim was injured.

Anyone with information can call Crime Stoppers at 800-244-8477. All calls will be kept confidential.
