Merrick Road reopens after gas main break, police say
A section of Merrick Road in Merrick, briefly shut because of a gas main break, was reopened about 3:30 p.m., a Nassau police spokesman said Friday.
The early afternoon shutdown at 1972 Merrick Rd. closed traffic in both directions between Lindenmere Drive and Merrick Avenue, the spokesman said.
He had no further details.
