Merrick Road reopens in Valley Stream

Merrick Road was closed in both directions in Valley Stream for about an hour Thursday because of an accident involving three cars and a school bus, which did not have children on board, Nassau County police said.

Injuries were reported, but they were not life-threatening, a police spokeswoman said.

The accident forced the closing of westbound lanes of Merrick Road at Rockaway Parkway and the eastbound lanes at Corona Avenue about 4 p.m., and they had been reopened by 5 p.m., police said.
