THE BUDGET

The district proposes a $46,911,578 budget for 2015-16, a 2.42 percent increase from the current $45,801,563. The local tax levy would rise 2.4 percent, from $37,726,907 to $38,630,878.

The increase is within the state's tax-cap limit of 2.42 percent, so a simple majority vote will be required to approve the budget. The district did not provide the dollar amount of the school tax on an average single-family home, citing the unavailability of final assessment figures.

The proposed budget includes estimated teacher salary increases subject to negotiation. Programs and staffing would be maintained at current levels.
