Mineola motorcyclist dies in collision, Nassau cops say

A Mineola man was killed when his motorcycle collided with another vehicle in Roslyn Heights on Tuesday, Nassau County police said.

Joao P. Cunha, 37, was driving a 2015 Yamaha north on Roslyn Road at about 3 p.m. when he was in a collision with a vehicle that was turning into a parking lot, police said.

Cunha was taken to Northwell Health North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset where he was pronounced dead, police said.

No other injuries were reported and both vehicles were impounded for brake and safety inspections, police said.
