Floral Park man reported missing is found, Nassau police say
An 82-year-old man from Floral Park who went missing Monday night has been found, police said Tuesday.
Raymond Defoe, who Nassau County police said is bipolar, suffers from schizophrenia and is in need of medication, was last seen leaving a residence on East 72nd Street in Manhattan, possibly driving a gray 2001 Subaru Legacy.
“The Missing Persons Squad reports that the above missing person has been located,” police said in a statement Tuesday afternoon.
John Valenti, a reporter at Newsday since 1981, has been honored nationally by the Associated Press and Society of the Silurians for investigative, enterprise and breaking news reporting, as well as column writing, and is the author of “Swee'pea,” a book about former New York playground basketball star Lloyd Daniels. Valenti is featured in the Emmy Award-winning ESPN 30-for-30 film “Big Shot.”
