A Westbury theater showing "The Hunger Games -- Mockingjay Part 2" was partially evacuated Wednesday night after a man wanted by Massachusetts authorities was arrested nearby, Nassau police said.

The events later were determined to be unrelated, police said. Massachusetts State Police executed an arrest warrant with the help of Nassau police, officials said. A theater in the United Artists Westbury Stadium 12 complex was cleared at about 8 p.m. after a disturbance involving a customer, police said. The parking lot also was evacuated.

Nassau police Lt. Steve Haggerty said authorities were being "overly, overly cautious."

The audience, filled with children and young adults, was allowed back in the theater a short time later. The unidentified suspect was arrested near BJ's Wholesale Club, in the same shopping center.

"It was a completely unrelated disturbance at the movie theater, but we did investigate it because we weren't sure if the person [arrested] was associated with what was going on at the movie theater," a Nassau police spokesman said.

Further details were not immediately available.

A Massachusetts State Police spokesman could not provide any information on the warrant or the arrest.

Federal, state and local authorities have been searching since Sunday for the person who broke into and stole firearms from a U.S. Army Reserve Center in Worcester, Massachusetts.

The missing weapons include 10 9-mm handguns and six M4 assault rifles, according to news reports.

The FBI said at the time of the break-in that there was no indication the crime was linked to terrorism.
