Motorcyclist killed in crash on Old Country Road in New Cassel

A motorcyclist was killed Monday afternoon after he collided with a vehicle making a turn in New Cassel, Nassau police said.
Around 12:40 p.m., an 81-year-old man driving a 2024 Subaru was westbound on Old Country Road when he made a left turn near Bond Street and collided with an eastbound 2016 Kawasaki operated by a 29-year-old man, police said.
The 29-year-old suffered serious injuries and was taken to a hospital. where he was pronounced dead, police said.
Police have not yet identified the motorcyclist.
The 81-year-old was also taken to a hospital, where he was in stable condition, police said.
An investigation is ongoing.
