A motorcyclist seriously injured in a collision on Aug. 1 in Hempstead has died, Nassau police said Monday.

Francisco Moises Alvarez, 22, of Hempstead, was operating a black 2007 Kawasaki motorcycle westbound on Front Street in Hempstead when the driver of a 2024 Toyota Corolla made a left turn onto Front Street from Courtenay Road just before 8:30 p.m. and collided with the motorcycle, police said.

Alvarez was transported to a hospital in critical condition, but succumbed to his injuries, police said in a news release issued on Monday.

The driver of the Toyota remained at the scene and has not been charged.
