Motorcyclist taken to hospital after West Hempstead crash, police say

A motorcyclist was taken to a hospital after a crash in West Hempstead on Wednesday night, police said.
The motorcycle collided with a car at Hempstead Turnpike and Nassau Boulevard about 8:50 p.m., Nassau County police said early Thursday.
Police did not provide information on the extent of the motorcyclist's injuries.
The intersection was closed for an investigation from about 10:10 p.m. to about 1:10 a.m., police said earlier.
