Nassau police are investigating a fatal motorcycle accident that occurred in Merrick Sunday evening.

A Nassau police spokeswoman said the accident took place at the intersection of Sunrise Highway and South Hewlett Avenue at about 4:45 p.m.

The driver of the motorcycle was killed, but no immediate details were available about the nature of the accident or whether other motorists were involved.
