A 21-year-old Merrick man was killed after he was struck by a car while riding his motorcycle in Bellmore late Thursday night, Nassau police said.

Brian P. Sammons was pronounced dead by a paramedic at the scene of the 10:45 p.m. crash on Oak Street and Newbridge Road, police said. No criminal charges will be filed in the crash, they added.

The 23-year-old driver of the car was not hurt.

Homicide detectives said Sammons was operating a 2009 Harley-Davidson motorcycle southbound on Newbridge Road when he struck a 2008 Chevrolet Malibu, which was making a right turn from Oak to go south onto Newbridge at the time of the crash.

Both vehicles were impounded for safety checks and the investigation is continuing, police said.
