An ambulance and a motorcycle collided leaving the operator of the motorcycle in serious condition in East Meadow. (June 27,2011) Credit: Jim Staubitser

Nassau County police said have identified a man who was killed Monday when his motorcycle collided with an ambulance in East Meadow as Jeffrey Paz, 39, of Levittown.

Paz, 39, collided with the ambulance on Merrick Avenue, north of Front Street at 6:48 a.m., police said. He was transported by a police ambulance to a hospital where he was later pronounced dead, police said.

The private ambulance was engaged in an emergency transportation, utilizing its emergency lights and sirens at the time of the collision with Paz's 2008 Suzuki motorcycle, police said.

There were no other reported injuries. Nassau homicide detectives were investigating the incident.
