A motorcyclist was killed in an early-morning accident that closed Grand Avenue near Village Avenue in South Hempstead Monday, police said.

Nassau County police said the accident, which occurred at 6:30 a.m., remained under investigation - and details were not immediately available.

The victim was a man. Police said his name was not being released, pending notification of next of kin.

It was unclear how the accident occurred. Early reports said another vehicle was involved in the crash. Later, police said it was unclear if that was the case.
