Multiple charges for Elmont man after traffic stop
An Elmont man has been arrested on charges of possession of stolen property and possession of a stolen credit card after a traffic stop Tuesday on the Southern State Parkway in North Massapequa, state police said.
Kenneth Loiseau, 29, of Goshen Street, was stopped for numerous vehicle and traffic violations about 4:40 p.m., police said. While interviewing Loiseau, the trooper noticed a smell of marijuana, and a subsequent search led to the recovery of a gram of the drug, police said. Also found were a stolen credit card and a radio reported stolen from a Long Island auto parts store, police said.
Police said the credit card, a Platinum MasterCard, had been reported stolen about a year ago.
Loiseau is charged with two counts of possession of stolen property, unlawful possession of marijuana and several vehicle and traffic violations, including unlicensed operation.
The case will be heard in First District Court in Hempstead.
