Murder charge in Freeport woman's shooting
A 22-year-old man already charged with two attempted murders has been charged with shooting to death a Freeport woman in June, Nassau police said Wednesday.
Rochell T. Davis, of Milburn Ave., Baldwin, was charged with second-degree murder in the death of Kelly Ann McGuire, 43, police said. McGuire was found fatally wounded in Milburn Creek Park on June 13.
"He was incarcerated on another charge," Det. Lt. John Azzata, the Homicide Squad commander, said of Davis. "He was presented to the grand jury, and last week he was indicted on Kelly's murder."
Davis was arrested in September and charged with shooting two men in the head as they sat in a car alongside the same Milburn Creek Park, police said. Both men, aged 22 and 23, survived that shooting, police said.
Azzata said it is not clear what the motives were for the three shootings.
"I don't believe it was a robbery attempt," he said. Davis was acquainted with the three victims, Azzata said.
