A fire at a trailer park in North Amityville destroyed two cars and briefly closed a route connecting Great Neck Road to Route 110 early Wednesday, police and fire officials said.

The fire in a parking lot at the Frontier Mobile Home Park was reported at 1:28 a.m. Volunteers from the North Amityville Fire Department arrived to find a Ford Expedition ablaze and flames spreading to a nearby Lincoln Town Car, fire officials said.

The fire was under control within 15 minutes and no one was injured, but the cars suffered heavy damage. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Police said the fire briefly closed Brefni Street.
