As the man, 44, got out of his car on North Delaware Avenue at 9 p.m. Friday, the three suspects, described as men in their mid-20s, approached him and tried to take his wallet, police said.

After a struggle, the victim was stabbed on his right side, police said. The suspects fled north on Alaska Avenue.

The knife was not recovered, police said.
