Nassau County residents whose properties were damaged by superstorm Sandy are being offered free legal consultation under a program sponsored by the Nassau County Bar Association.

The nonprofit membership association for attorneys is providing free one-on-one legal consultations on successive Mondays, Dec. 10 and Dec. 17, at its business office at the corner of 15th and West streets in Mineola, the group said.

Two time slots are available each day: from 10 a.m. to noon and from 3:30 to 6 p.m. Attorneys fluent in several languages will be on hand, the group said.

The attorneys can provide advice in areas such as insurance claims, FEMA assistance, debt deferral, consumer protection issues, and landlord-tenant issues, among other topics.

Residents interested can call 516-747-4070 to schedule an appointment.
