The Nassau County Department of Health said Tuesday all of its beaches operating for the 2013 season are open for use.
Nineteen beaches had been closed to swimmers Monday, after heavy rainfall, the department said.
The closings were a precautionary measure, because the stormwater runoff from the rain can elevate bacteria levels and affect bathing water quality, the department said.
