The white county sport utility vehicle assigned to Nassau Chief Deputy County Executive Rob Walker was involved in a four-car accident on Stewart Avenue near the south entrance of Roosevelt Field on the Monday evening before Christmas, but Walker wasn't in the car. His special assistant, Kristen DiCerbo, of upstate Malta, was at the wheel of the 2008 Chevy Tahoe, which is registered to the county sheriff's department, according to the police report.

County officials say the senior staffer was authorized to drive the vehicle and was returning from a county meeting at Eisenhower Park when the accident occurred at 5:30 p.m. on Dec. 19. No injuries were reported or tickets issued. Walker is driving a temporary replacement while minor damage to the SUV is repaired, officials said.
