Nassau cops: Cabbie arrested over 'Kill Jews' notes

Nassau police have arrested a Brooklyn man they said has been driving around Nassau County in his taxicab and dropping notes with the words, "Kill Jews" in all capital letters scribbled on them.
Seventh Squad detectives arrested Demetrios Apolonides, 37, of 259 80th St. Tuesday on nine counts of second-degree aggravated harassment.
He is scheduled to be arraigned on the charges Wednesday in First District Court in Hempstead.
Police said Apolonides began dropping 1-by-3-inch pieces of paper onto the street as he drove around Nassau County while an employee of XYZ Car Service starting in September 2009. The notes kept appearing until March 2010, police said, adding that the words were written with a black marker.
It may not have been the first time Apolonides has faced the charge.
A man with a similar name and the same age, Demitrious Apolonides, was arrested by New York City Police in July for dropping the same kind of 1-by-3-inch notes near the Jewish Guild for the Blind at West 65th Street near Central Park West, according to news reports.
The articles also said that the notes had been scattered throughout New York City and New Jersey for over a year before Apolonides was arrested last summer.
