Nassau cops: Man assaulted in Cedarhurst
A 29-year-old man, walking along a street in Cedarhurst early Sunday morning, was assaulted by three men who attempted to rob him but fled without any money, Nassau County police said.
The victim suffered a facial laceration and bruising of his right eye, police said.
He declined medical treatment.
Police said the incident took place on Central Avenue at Cedarhurst Avenue just after midnight. Police said that, after being approached by the three men, one demanded cash -- and then punched the victim on the right side of the face when he refused to turn over money.
Police are asking anyone with information regarding the incident to call Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential.
