Nassau cops: Man robbed of bank deposit

Nassau County police said a 63-year-old man was robbed Sunday as he walked to his car in Merrick, carrying a bag of money he planned to deposit at a bank.

Police said as the man walked to his parked car on Merrick Avenue about 2:10 p.m., a man approached him, demanded the bag and claimed he was armed with a gun.

The robber grabbed the bag and fled east on Larkspur Avenue, police said. No injuries were reported.
