Nassau cops search for thief who stole five gas pumps

Nassau County police are searching for the thief of five gas pumps from a shuttered Westbury gas station.
An accounts manager of a Mobil Gas Station at 864 Carman Ave. told police that the five pumps were stolen and the gas line was drained sometime between noon Thursday and 1:30 p.m., Saturday, police said.
The pumps were estimated to cost $20,000 each. Nassau detectives are investigating the thefts as a grand larceny. A phone number to the gas station was disconnected.
Police are asking anyone with information to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-244-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
