Nassau County police are looking for a man who, they say, threatened a bus driver Thursday afternoon with a box cutter in Hempstead Village.

Police said a passenger on a NICE bus threatened the driver about 1 p.m. near West Columbia Street. The driver called for a supervisor to help and was able to stop and force the passenger off the bus. No one on the bus was injured.

The passenger broke two windows on the bus after he was forced outside. The driver said the man ran north on Columbia Street.

Police are asking anyone with information to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS.
