Nassau creates nonemergency storm hotline
With a major blizzard expected to dump as much as 2 feet of snow on Long Island, Nassau County Executive Edward Mangano Sunday established a hotline for residents to report nonemergency storm problems.
County residents can call 888-684-4274 for assistance. Emergencies should still be reported to 911.
Mangano said the hotline should be used to report problems like downed trees or street-plowing issues.
Any Nassau resident in need of shelter should call the Nassau County Warm Bed Hotline at 866-WARMBED (866-927-6233).
"This storm will create treacherous conditions," Mangano said. "Our county workforce will be working hard to keep the streets safe, and you can help by keeping cars off the road. Please stay indoors today."
