County Executive Edward Mangano Thursday announced a new and quicker way for Nassau officials to resolve questions or complaints from residents -- through a mobile and Web application called "Nassau Now."

"With Nassau Now, residents can quickly and easily express their concerns to Nassau County directly by sending a photo and description through the app," Mangano said.

The app offers a calendar of free concerts, holiday shows and fireworks displays, plus alerts on weather conditions and construction activity.

Residents can also "take photos of concerns and send them directly to the department responsible to ensure immediate attention and repair," said Mangano spokesman Brian Nevin.

Nassau Now is available on the county website -- www.nassaucountyny.gov -- for use on iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch and Android platforms.

After downloading the app, residents may log in to receive a free full-access subscription.
