A Nassau County First Precinct police officer suffered a knee injury while making an arrest near the scene of a reported fight in Uniondale on Sunday night, police said.

The identity of the officer was not released.

Police said the officer was treated for minor injuries at South Nassau Communities Hospital in Oceanside.

Arrested was Marc Anthony Bell, 17, of 79 Henry St. in Roosevelt, who was charged with second-degree assault, fourth-degree criminal mischief, third-degree criminal trespass and unlawful possession of marijuana. The incident occurred at about 8:20 p.m.

Police said the officers were responded to a 911 call reporting a fight involving "guns and knives" and said that responding officers saw Bell fell from the scene and into the backyard of a home on Park Avenue. Police said the officer was injured during a struggle with Bell. Police said Bell also damaged a pickup truck when he ran into the backyard attempting to flee from officers.

Bell is scheduled for arraignment Monday in First District Court in Hempstead.
