Police are asking the public to help identify a pedestrian who was struck by a taxi and seriously injured in Hempstead early Saturday.

The male victim, described by Nassau County police as in his early 20s, stepped into traffic at the intersection of Clinton Street and Fulton Avenue and was hit by the cab at 4:28 a.m. The driver remained at the scene, police said.

The man was taken to a hospital and is listed in serious but stable condition. He did not have identification on him, but police released a photo of the man’s chest tattoo, which includes a large set of wings.

Police ask anyone with information to contact the Third Squad at 516-573-6353. All callers will remain anonymous.
