A crash between a Nassau police cruiser and a car in Massapequa Saturday night left a police officer and two others in the hospital, authorities said.

All three were in stable condition Sunday at Nassau University Medical Center, according to Nassau police, who did not release their names.

Police said the collision with a 2008 Dodge Charger happened at 10:23 p.m. Saturday as officers in the police car, lights blazing, headed north on Broadway to help another officer in Seaford. The Dodge was crossing Broadway as it headed west along Park Hill Avenue, detectives said.

The driver of the Dodge and a passenger were hospitalized with head injuries, while one of the officers was admitted with a leg injury, police said. The other officer was treated for cuts to his forehead.

Authorities said they are investigating the collision. Detectives said the crash does not appear to be criminal.
