Nassau County police are investigating an apparent drive-by shooting in Uniondale Sunday that wounded a man sitting in his car.

According to First Squad detectives, the man, 19, was sitting behind the wheel of his vehicle on James Place just after 1 a.m. when he heard several shots fired.

The man suffered two gunshot wounds, one to the left arm and the other to the right shoulder, police said, and told officers he saw a white BMW driving away at the time of the shooting. He was taken to a hospital.

Detectives ask anyone with information regarding the shooting to contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
