Nassau police are asking the public to help them find a bank robber who stole money from a Chase bank branch in Elmont Thursday afternoon.

The suspect entered the bank on Linden Boulevard at about 5:30 p.m. and handed a teller a note demanding cash, according to detectives in the Major Case Bureau. The teller complied and the suspect left the building and fled in an unknown direction.

He is described as 6 feet tall, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black Yankees baseball cap and jeans.

Police ask anyone with information about the case to call Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS.
