Nassau police are searching for a man who they said pulled a gun out on a bank teller in Freeport Monday afternoon and made off with cash.

Robbery Squad detectives said a suspect entered Bethpage Federal Credit Union at 210 West Merrick Rd. armed with a handgun and demanded money from a teller at 3:58 p.m.

The teller complied, providing an undisclosed amount of cash, and the suspect left the bank through a rear door, heading toward Long Beach Avenue.

He is described as being between 25 and 30 years old, 5 feet, 10 inches to 6 feet tall with an average build and wearing a black jacket, gray hooded sweatshirt, jeans and a black baseball cap.

Detectives said that anyone with information about the robbery should call Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS.
