A department store at the Roosevelt Field mall in Garden City has been reopened after a bomb threat forced shoppers and workers to evacuate, a mall spokeswoman said.

Nordstrom's was shut down after a bomb threat was called in about 1:50 p.m., and people evacuated as patrol cars and bomb and arson squad officers converged at the mall, Nassau police said.

Nordstrom's reopened shortly before 4 p.m., the mall spokeswoman said: "They swept the property and didn't find anything."

The rest of the mall was not evacuated, she said.

The mall is located in one of Long Island's busiest shopping and business districts.
