THE BUDGET
The district proposes a $53,303,507 budget for the 2015-16 school year, a 1.94 percent increase from the current $52,291,099. The local tax levy would rise 1.75 percent, from $35,867,458 to $36,495,138.
This increase equals the state's tax-cap limit of 1.75 percent, so a simple majority vote will be required to approve the budget. Sschool taxes on the average single-family home would rise 1.75 percent, from $3,963 to $4,032. The budget includes estimated teacher salary increases subject to negotiations. It maintains current levels of staffing and programs.
