The North Hempstead Town Board voted unanimously to award a $643,000 contract for improvements to the sanitary system at North Hempstead Beach Park in Port Washington.
The bid was accepted on Jan. 30 by Holbrook-based G&M Earth Moving Inc., which was the project’s second lowest bidder.

The lowest bid was $613,000 by Middle Village-based TDI Construction Inc. The company was disqualified after the failing to provide sufficient documentation.

This bid is for the first phase of improvements at North Hempstead Beach Park, according to the resolution the board voted on.
